James Brown rediscover the national Factory of Sèvres in 2004, when it is there invited to work. Begin then an intense work of collaboration between the artist and the decorator, the one holding the ideas, the other one know him make technique but which, the one without the other one, could not give birth to such a work.

Les Constellations, are one of the themes on which James Brown works at present, and it is in this lineage that joins its action on the series of 9 muds Gauvenet 7 ( 1st new porcelain size(greatness)), realized to the Factory and cooked exceptionally in the wood. Many studies and searches will have been necessary to create these " ceramic effects " so desired by the artist.

From the beginning of his approach in Sèvres, James Brown who created by some ceramic in Mexico and knows perfectly this technique, wished to work with the prospect of this cooking on the wood.
The alliance enters the shape of the vase which uses the artist and the intensity of the color of enamels revealed thanks to the cooking in the wood, seem in perfect agreement, as promised to each other. Surrounded with a delicate veil, the parts of Brown embody an astral, organic universe, where reign ambient one cloudiness.
A color coral was specially created at the request of the artist, applied to the superior internal walls of 9 vases, up to their half, so that funds and lower walls, remained white, embrace with subtlety in the coral, in striking one alliance of colors. Under the heel of each of the vases, also appears a headband of the same original color.

Definitively innovator, James Brown, always in agreement with his theme of study, imagines a black urn, of form identical to the series of vases, but the opening of which is closed by a cork drawn by the artist, as the singular work at the heart of a set of vases.
