The Apponyi pattern betoken a calm, prosperous, unobtrusive life style. This Simpler version of Fleurs des Indes décor was first made for Count Albert Appony at the turn of the century.

The exoticisim of the Indies remains, overlaid with bourgeois poise. Apponyi would be most apposite, perhaps, for a gourmet devoted to the seemingly familiar, yet entirely special things in life.
